About the Product

The borrower makes an application for a loan on the website. This application is checked by the manager. He assesses risks and benefits for the company. This assessment takes place in Loan Origination System (LOS) — working environment designed to make the job of hard money lending specialists easy. It was planned that the product would work according to the SAAS model. Any lending company will be able to connect itself and adjust to its processes.

Users

The system will be used by people with special education. They are professionals and ready to study the service if it helps speed up their work. Now they do everything through the mail but our product will be ready to automate the whole process.

Problems

  1. The process of issuing money is very complex. It can take up to half a year or even longer. It is very difficult to make a ready-made system right away. So, we focused only on evaluating the application in the mvp. It is the first and second steps in the image provided above.
  2. It's hard to test on end users. They are very busy and they were not interested in participating in the testing. Also, the usability testing results would not be very representative, since even the loan evaluation process takes several days. So, we connected just with one expert who works as a hard money lender.

We showed all the prototypes to our expert. She did our tasks and we understood what needed to be improved.

My role

I found out the requirements for the system and prepared the design and prototypes. I was the only designer, but 2 project managers worked with me.

Design

I have written down the basic user cases for working with the system. Step by step, the main sections appeared, such as the list of applications, settings, profile, and notifications. As the scenarios were designed, the requirements were clarified.
